The Stovebolt Site Forums The Shop Area Paint and Body Shop 1935 pickup color?

I have a 1935 pickup that is dark, dark blue. Just wondering if there is a paint code or description for this color. I would like to paint it the same color if possible.

Hi Dan,
Have you checked with Jim Carter Antique Truck Parts or one of the other suppliers? They usually have a list or table of what paint colors were available for each year. I'd start there and see where that gets you. I think there was a dark blue color back then but not entirely sure. You can also buy the correct paint from those suppliers. Carter is my preferred supplier for everything.

Jim Carter lists Boatswain Blue (a dark blue - navy blue) and a Windsor Blue (a lighter blue).

The standard 1934-36 Chevrolet truck color is T-140 Boatswain Blue. That is the only Blue color for 1934 & 1935. In 1936 T-160 Export Blue was added; it is a lighter blue. All trucks were painted in 1934-36 with DuPont Dulux enamel paint.

The original paint that I had on my '34 was the same dark blue that you're describing with black fenders.

Old Gold Yoour truck had the standard color combination for 34 & 35. Your windshield frame, headlamps & supports, grille screen, cab top as well as the fenders and running boards, wire wheels were all colored black.
