I found a seems to be good 261 and will fix it up to drop in the 49 3/4 ton I will restore, my question is I have a 11" clucth and ring gear/fly wheel out of the old 235 6 volt. I would like to use it instead of the 10" 12 volt stuff that came with the 261, anyone see any problems..............more stuff to come as I'am just gettig started. Oh are all parts houses afraid to look up old parts can't find tie rod stuff at any Napa or others all want part numbers...

You might not be able to get the fork on the ball stud because of the thickness of the pressure plate assembly. I was told that a good GM parts dealer can get shorter ball studs. As for parts houses, I have a local mom & pop parts store with a long row of books, and they know how to use them.
One more thing, if you don't already know. You will need to use your 6 volt starter, gears are different. but it will work great as long as you don't sit and crank on it for too long.
