The V8 bellhousings from the 55-62 trucks will also bolt up to the 194/230/250/292 6 cylinders and the Mercruiser 4 cylinders as well as the V8's.

What clearance issues are there if doing a V8 swap? I know there are issues with the steering box and HEI distributors. What about valve cover, etc... Will the footwell/firewall need trimmed to clear the new bellhousing? | | | | | Joined: Apr 2005 Posts: 2,832 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Apr 2005 Posts: 2,832 | 1955-1956 265 left exhaust manifold clears steering box, small cap HEI clears firewall, VC's clear, no trimming necessary with standard transmission.
