Both of my rear spring hangers on my 58 3800 panel are broken, missing pins, really notice it when rear wheels are jacked up, shackle pins sag.

These look like they will be difficult to find replacements for.

Has anyone used spring hangers from a later model 1 ton, 70s or 80s, bolt on, with new shackles?

I figure if its 2.5" wide with the same spring eye hole size, it should work with possibly only re-drilling some mounting holes in the frame.

Thank you for your imput.

Do you have a picture?

For the earlier trucks, 48-54, they are the same rear spring hangers (all 4 of them) from 3/4 ton to 2 ton. Which means they're real common.

I'm not sure if 58 is still the same?

58 rear spring hanger

you can see broken/missing pin under top zerk fitting.

All four hangers on the rear are the same. They are only about 4.5" tall. Two bolts on bottom of frame and two on the side. Shackles are good, use same style pin to hold it all together.

Anyone have a lead on two of these?

Looks just like on my AD trucks. Might do some parts manual research to confirm. Not sure I have a 58 or later manual to check for you..

So likely the same, opens up your search to most any old 50's GM not 1/2 ton and under about 3 tons or so.
Any junkyards locally?

Please keep parts wanted and parts for sale discussions either to The Swap Meet section or use private messages.
Not appropriate in the general forum.

Thanks,

Found a 1 1/2-2 ton on .bay, not the same as a 1 ton, taller with extra holes, for a 55-59. If add is correct. identical in all other ways.

1.5 to 2 ton spring hanger

Update on Spring hangers.

Found spring hangers from a 48 1 ton, They are identical to the rear spring hangers on my 58 3800 panel, 2.5" wide leaf springs. Found new shackle pins at Jim Carter listed for a 1 1/2.

Worked out well. Job done.

I wanted to Thank everyone for helping out.
