Any recommendations on what colour I should paint my wheels? 1958 Chevrolet Long Fleetside. Body colour code is 710A, Tartan Turquoise, with some white trim and hub caps. I'm leaning towards Yokohama RY215 black tires.

Should I paint the wheels Black, or Tartan Turquoise?

Appreciate any suggestions or pictures.

Personally, I like them the way they came from the factory. Done stock, they just seem to look "right" to me. If I understand your description of white trim, you have a Deluxe cab (painted grill, bumpers and hubcaps vs. Custom cab with chrome grill, bumpers and hubcaps) and not a two-tone truck.

Truck specification sheets for 1959 list black wheels for all single-color cabs and primary body color for all two-tone cabs. See page 32 of 83 for chart: https://www.gmheritagecenter.com/do...hevrolet-Trucks/1959-Chevrolet-Truck.pdf

I couldn't find the same info on the 1958 spec sheets, which are only 53 pages...I'll bet they followed the same protocol.

By the way, at least in 1959, stepside and Deluxe Fleetside trucks had Chevrolet painted in white (Bombay Ivory) letters on the tailgate. Custom cab Fleetside truck tailgate lettering was body color.

Thanks Bob.

My truck is a bit of a hybrid. My cab is a deluxe cab with big back window and stainless trim around the windows. But will have painted bumpers, grille, hubcaps, accent stripe on the fleetside panels, and tailgate lettering. Maybe some two tone on the roof, or upper door and rear cab area.

For 1958 it looks like the contrasting colour is Artic Beige, not Bombay Ivory. My paint supplier found that the codes for Artic Beige 721A and Pure White 721F where the same mix. Looks pure white to me, which I think I'm OK with.

Still not sure whether to paint the wheels black or Tartan Turquoise with blackwall tires and a white hub cap.

John.

I like them the same as the body. Once you add hub caps and all, it will break the color up. You can look at mine, despite wrong year
