I can get the copper tube through but there is interference which makes it necessary to bend the tube. This causes a problem when I try to start the threads on the brass fitting. The angle of the fitting wobbles because of the interference making it impossible to start the threads.
Is this interenece normal? Any ideas on what I should try?
Thanks for your help! | | | | | Joined: Mar 2010 Posts: 10,274 Renaissance Man | | Renaissance Man Joined: Mar 2010 Posts: 10,274 | There is a slick way to use the old pipe to thread a small guide wire through it and thus the block before you remove the old pipe. (You pull out the old pipe, leaving the wire in place.)
But since you already pulled the old pipe out, you may have luck fishing a small diameter, stiff wire through the block, then start the the new pipe through by pushing the pipe onto the wire which is now through the block.
