Will a rearend from a 57 GMC i/2tn truck swap with a 1959 Chevy 1/2tn? Looking at possibly having different gear ratio.

Get out your tape and measure. Then check the gear ratio and U-joint measurements. GMC might have Spicer rear, who cares if dimensions are OK!

I put a Spicer from a '59 GMC in my '56 Chevy. The only thing I had to do was move the brake hose bracket from one side to the other. I got a 3.07 ratio.

Ok, thanks for the info. Some one locally selling parts and I was hoping maybe could get a better than I have ratio (3.90) and swap the carrier.

If it's a Spicer, and it probably is, you'll need to swap the entire assembly.
