HI,

The wood bed on my 1950 3100 Suburban is rotted towards the rear so bad that my foot fell through it the other day! A friend of mine mentioned that the process of replacing the wood floor is a nightmare. Can anyone shed any light on the pitfalls of replacing the rotten wood?

Yeah…… that looks……. aggravating.

I sanded the crap out of my plywood floor then filled any cracks with polyurethane sanded that down until smooth then polyed the whole floor. looks great 53 panel

thanks windyville1. the crack down the middle was 3/8 inch deep/wide or better took me forever filling it with poly from a few hypo needle that my next door vet give me. fill it let it dry then fill it again day after day.that crack and a hundred smaller ones. sanded it with a belt sander to start with then a vibrator sander then hand sanding blocks and a lot of just using my fingers and sand paper in the tight spots. oh a hundred hours or so in that floor.
