I was looking for some parking brake hardware for my 58 GMC and was finally able to find a 60's era chevy rearend on a wrecking yards rack just 60 miles away. Imagine.
But after sitting outside on the banks of the Columbia river for who knows how long they were rusty.
So I hooked up two wall warts to my electrolysis bucket and cooked em for two days.
The photo shows the shoes and stuff I didn't use, the parts as they came out of the tank, what the wire brush did to half of one bar and a piece after a quick run over the wire wheel to clean it up.

Geek speak for the small transformers used to charge things like cell phones, etc.

Sounds like a neat trick to get rid of rust, I'd like to know how to do that.

Search for "reverse electrolysis" and have fun.

It's a good first step towards nickel plating...
