For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Dec 2016 Posts: 80 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Dec 2016 Posts: 80 | I believe I have seen this debated before but can't locate it. What is the proper paint color for a 59 Apache 32 with a 235? Some say grey, some say blue and I've even heard orange mentioned! It can't be that hard can it?

The 6-cyl are blue, and both the small blocks and the W-series big blocks are orange. Even though there are trucks shown on the assembly line (a yellow 59 big bolt is shown), there are no gray engines seen. | | | | | Joined: Feb 2002 Posts: 12,029 Cruising in the Passing Lane | | Cruising in the Passing Lane Joined: Feb 2002 Posts: 12,029 | one pic doesn't tell a whole story, you seem to miss this pic tom, were my 'puter sees a [blue]gray 235 .... also note the UNpainted transmissions ... looking further, BLUE 235'sBill | | | | | Joined: Jun 2006 Posts: 693 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Jun 2006 Posts: 693 | Bill - you are right. I wasn't thinking that these pics were the whole story necessarily, i just thought it was a cool set of shots that may shed some light! That blue/grey one you show just looks blue to me. maybe the color difference is subtle. I also found it interesting that there were some '60 model cars being built so this must have been during the model year overlap. | | | | | Joined: Apr 2015 Posts: 336 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Apr 2015 Posts: 336 | It appears to me that the blue engine in the first link is a car engine due to the trans having a mount on the rear section.
