I was wondering if anyone out there knows of a good driveline/differential shop in Houston that could rebuild my Napco front axle and the rear Dana 44. I'm restoring a 1958 Napco 3/4 ton and I'm trying to get it to as near original as I can. Trying to find someone with attention for detail. Anyway, if anyone has any ideas please let me know.
Thanks, Craig

I talked to a guy at Houston Drivetrain Service who actually knew what one was, I don't know that they could restore one and make it presentable enough for a detailed restoration. You might call Omar Lugo (lugoparts.com) at his place in Calif and see if he knows anyone in this area. He's a NAPCO guru.
I tackled mine myself. It's a dirty job but doable. That way I can be sure it's detailed and done to my satisfaction without someone slapping it back together with a bunch of dirty and rusty hardware and assorted parts going back on it.
Don't pay no mind to that whirrin' sound, she uses a little oil but outsida' that she's cherry.

However, mine was half-ton running gear, which appears much easier than the 3/4 ton (from pictures anyway). My truck is a 3/4 ton, but I used 1/2 ton Napco running gear. Seems like it is much easier to get parts for the 1/2 ton running gear. don | | |
