its a pre 54 due to the waterpump being small and high but i cant seem to find info on this casting.

My info shows that is a Canadian 216.

I have the same block, and the spotty info I have gathered from the forums is it is a Canadian 216. Mine has what I assume to be a date marked behind the starter (F 9 2) meaning June 9, 1952.

Mine also has a short side cover, which is a characteristic of the 235 but apparently a short run of 216s also shared the same block molds as the 235.
