1952 Truck. Currently has a 235/4 speed.

Swapping out the 4 speed for a T5. That swap will include an open driveshaft and rear axle swap.

Was planning on using a 2nd gen Camaro rear axle since I had a spare.

Low and behold, the current wheels are 6 lug. The Camaro axle is obviously 5 lug.

Was also planning on disc brakes up front.

Move everything to 5 lug and get new wheels, or get 6 lug disc brakes and find another rear axle???

Just started looking tonight and saw something about Dana 44s from Jeeps, but definitely not too deep in investigation of a new axle right now....

2004-2012 Chevy Colorado 4x4 have 6 lug rearends with the 6x5.5 pattern. Metric studs though. They are 60" wide which is spot on for AD trucks.

73 and newer trucks with the 6 lug rears are typically 62-63" wide. They will work, but you need to be picky on your wheel choice.

No real need to go 5 lug unless you're going to IFS. Sell the Camaro axle, buy a 6 lugger.

The 55-59 truck rears are also a good swap too, if you can find one.

Wow, thanks for the tip.

Started doing an initial search last night and the word aluminum popped up. Is the AAM 800 axle housing aluminum? I am still trying to confirm but curious if you knew.

I would have to do some welding to put the new leaf spring perches on.
