Thanks! | | | | Joined: Aug 2010 Posts: 775 'Bolter | 'Bolter Joined: Aug 2010 Posts: 775 | There is no vin. The right hand side of the cab below the cowl had a plate. There are some numbers and letters stamped into that plate if still there. Also if the engine is original the numbers on the block will help. There are other hints. Does the gas filler neck have a leather seal or rubber seal. Two windshield wipers or one. How is the rear window installed. A bolted ring or just a rubber gasket? | | | | Joined: Sep 2001 Posts: 29,262 Bubba - Curmudgeon | Bubba - Curmudgeon Joined: Sep 2001 Posts: 29,262 | Hello, Andy, Welcome to Stovebolt.com Click on each of the 1941-1946 truck links. http://chevy.oldcarmanualproject.com/chevyresto/index.htmClick on Unit Serial Numbers You will see SERIAL NUMBER LOCATIONS Decode your Vehicle Serial Number and Engine Serial Numbers And/or: post here your Vehicle Serial Number and your Engine Serial Number. | | | | Joined: Jan 2017 Posts: 22 New Guy | New Guy Joined: Jan 2017 Posts: 22 | I'll have to look and get back to ya | | | | Joined: Jan 2017 Posts: 22 New Guy | New Guy Joined: Jan 2017 Posts: 22 | Thanks, very helpful link | | | | Joined: Apr 2004 Posts: 886 'Bolter | 'Bolter Joined: Apr 2004 Posts: 886 | Some more help here. Have fun and good luck Dan | | | | Joined: Jan 2017 Posts: 22 New Guy | New Guy Joined: Jan 2017 Posts: 22 | The number on the original engine block begins with DEA. From what I gather the "D" means it was a 46. It has a leather gas filler grommet, it has only one windshield wiper above the drivers side, and the rear window has a rubber gasket. | | | | Joined: Apr 2004 Posts: 886 'Bolter | 'Bolter Joined: Apr 2004 Posts: 886 | | | | | Joined: Apr 2004 Posts: 886 'Bolter | 'Bolter Joined: Apr 2004 Posts: 886 | And the one I was looking for. Mine has one too. It was born in June 1946. | | |
