I've got a 46 Chevy and I've been thinking about the power plant I want for it. I've already got a t18 borg warner 4 speed, and I was wondering if anyone has tried to pair it up with a 350.

I have seen small block Chevy engines installed in everything from Kaiser/Fraser's to a MB 300SL Gull Wing. There are endless possibilities out there to modify or upgrade a vehicle. Probably a little more information is needed as to what your plans are such as what rear end, etc. If you plan to pull stumps, cruise, or race, that is relevant also.

There used to be a company called Advanced Adapters that made adapting almost any tranny to any engine possible. Might do a Google to see if they are still around.

check here for your adapter.
http://www.advanceadapters.com/categories/engine-to-transmission-adapters/233/

as a note, you may be better off and end up being cheaper to sell your T18 and get an SM420 or SM465 to mate to your 350 and use all factory parts.

I agree with Mike. That transmission was used on some Jeep vehicles and Ford trucks and it probably would work fine.
However, purchasing an expensive adapter when other stock parts are readily available is working backwards in my opinion.
Also expect clutch, driveshaft, and other modifications to be required. It's all a matter of experience, source of parts,
and of course, funds.

That might be the best way to go, but I've heard that Muncie isnt as good of a transmission as a borg Werner.

It depends on who you listen to. Bullet proof is also a term used for Muncie 4 speed transmissions. They were installed in GM HD trucks for 50 years, numerous military vehicles, HD forklifts, common choice for off road specialty vehicles, and others.
Nothing wrong with Warner transmissions however.

That's probably true. Chevy fans will say Muncie is the best while ford fans will say borg Werner. Thanks for the input Fred
