The boss keeps accusing me of ignoring her calls and messages. Some of you will say....not so bad....but does anyone have any experience with a booster or such before I embark on research?

I've looked into some signal boosters, where you put an antenna outside and have a repeater inside. Not for sure how well they work. Not for sure if I want to go through the trouble either. | | | | | Joined: Jan 2016 Posts: 1,110 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Jan 2016 Posts: 1,110 | I use this Dual Band booster at a lake house. Metal roof and down in a valley at a lake. Outside if I hold my cell phone up in the air I get a good signal. Inside the house, nothing. With this booster I get 4-5 bars. Dual-band device works with 800/1900 MHz frequencies from all major carriers--AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, Verizon, Alltel, Cricket, and more (not compatible with Nextel). We got the dual band, a little more expensive, because I have ATT and my brother has T-Mobile. They use different technologies/bands. I am very happy with the results. As stated above, you place an antenna outside and run a cable to the unit inside. It also boost my signal when out in the yard. I had one for about 2-3 years and I think it was fried by lightning. I did not hesitate to spend the money on a replacement. I have had the current one for about 5 years. You can disconnect it when you are not there to reduce that risk. About $200. Just think - your wife can't get hold of you either when you're trying to concentrate on what you're doing. Once in a while I can't even get a signal in my garage which isn't metal. Does it depend on local "traffic"? | | | | | Joined: Nov 2008 Posts: 544 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Nov 2008 Posts: 544 | Have a similar problem in the house as well as the shop. My shop doubles as my office and warehouse, so missing calls is NOT AN OPTION! I had been running 2 microcells for ATT. Run off internet. Basically turn phone into VOIP. But now my phone all have wifi calling capacity. So I just use that. I have strong wifi in both locations. Besides the router/wifi for the shop, and if your phone has that capacity, should be the ticket without any specialized equipment. | | | | | Joined: Mar 2010 Posts: 10,310 Renaissance Man | | Renaissance Man Joined: Mar 2010 Posts: 10,310 | What can I do to my shop to block cell service?
