(no answer an another forum, so here goes...

Just finished a repaint of the cab. Popped all the glass & decided to add chrome locking strips to the rear 3 windows.

Well, one chrome strip got messed up & I need to replace it. I bought this as part of a whole window rubber kit, but don't need the whole kit - again.

Where can I buy just the Chrome locking strip or a kit just for a corner (or one) window? The closer (shipping time) to the Northeast, the better.

The guys need this asap, so I need someone who does not wait 3-5 days to ship - any leads appreciated. Thanks!

Hilltown,

Classic Parts ( Old Chevy Duty) has the chrome locking strips. Rear widow PT# 01-118 and rear side windows PT# 01-202. $16.95 each. I'd call them and see if they can expedite your order and have them shipped overnight. Just a suggestion.

Ended up getting the Chrome strip from Metro Moulded parts. Most body shops will have done business with them at one time or another over the years. Nice folks and specialists in this sort of thing.

As an aside, for now I've given up getting repops from Classic parts due to recurring quality problems and high shipping costs. To be fair, I think regardless of where people go for repop parts today, they risk running into quality problems. Unless the vendor tests each batch that come in - how are they to know?

It's a sad state of affairs for restorers. Too much off shoring and little attention to quality. I just replaced my window regulators for the second time. The difference is night and day. The first set was not even constructed correctly. The irony is that the good ones I finally got come from a vendor with the most complaints on the internet - these day, how are you to know?
