After idling for ~20 min, it ran rough and stalled. After about 6 hours, the coil was still almost too hot to touch. Info I have, it was changed to 12v, has a ballast resistor, but no voltage indicated on the coil. Main question is, what is the problem? I bought a 12v coil to make sure but haven't installed it yet. If it's still hot after 6 hours of being "off", you've got voltage to the coil with the ignition switch turned off. Find someone who knows how to use a voltmeter to wring out the ignition circuit for you.
