It's been a while since I posted on the board. Since the last time I was on I got the suspension done for the most part. I think I'm going to pull a leaf off the rear to level the truck. It's got 3" Posies in the front and Sid dropped the original axle 3"s. The rear is 3" Posies and 2" drop shackles.
I sorted out the front clip as best as i could and the old Stovebolt seems to be running good. I did the PCV conversion and headers but other than that the motor is still stock.
I threw in a early 90's Silverado bench seat that I found with the original red vinyl for now. I do have the original bench and the internals are in pretty good shape...just need to be recovered.
I still need to fix a few spots on the cab that need attention and fix a few cracks in the glass on the bed. The tail lights, rear bumper and tailgate are sitting in the garage. The pot metal tail lights are in good shape. I had all 4 rear bumperettes re-chromed and I need to do some glass work on the tailgate cover before I put the rear end back together.
Here's short video of the progress on the truck for those interested.
Thank you...she's been testing me all the way with finding many micky mouse repairs that need to be corrected from her past as I take things apart and sort them out. It has a lot of fun and a learning expierence!
Been a while since I've posted an update. Made my way to the bed of the truck now, slowly going through all the little things that are unique to the Cameo...it's sorta a pain in the butt to be honest.
I've got some glass work to do on the bed sides and the spare tire carrier...thankfully it's nothing major. One of my retractors was missing so I got a new set to put in, the old one that was there is still working. After taking the bed sides off, I found evidence of a minor accident and I'm working on fixing that too. Shouldn't be to bad. The rear bed cross sill was damaged as well so I just went ahead and got a new one from the truck shop. I'll have to drill some holes in it for some Cameo specific stuff but otherwise it fits well.
Here is where I am now with the old bird. Progress is slow but it's getting there.
The old 235 is still kicking...I haven't really tested it yet but should be able to soon. I think I have it dialed in pretty close, but I need to check the valves...that's the last thing. I think i'll have the truck road worthy in a month or so and plan on taking ruffly a 100 mile trip. I think that'll put her to the test.
Nice Cameo and nice work. I've always loved those Cameo's and glad you have it!

Very nice! Your'e coming right along. The old six banger sounds great! A little too hot these days to work on the truck. I replaced my master cylinder yesterday, and by 11am when I finished up bleeding the lines, it was baking....
Happy 4th to the board, I had some time today to work on the old bird, and I focused on the engine. I finally got around to adjusting the valves, there were all a little tight so I'm glad I did before taking it out on a road trip. I also changed the timing a bit...running a little more advance and she seems to like it a lot better.
Here's another little video of the progress for those that are interested.
