I have a 1947 diner / lunch wagon built by the Worcester Lunch Company of Worcester Massachusetts that I am restoring. It is mounted on a replacement of the original 1954 Chevy COE 5700.

What would be a historically / authentic replacement bumper to have mounted on the rear? I understand that in 1954, regulations may not have required a proper rear bumper.

thanks

Chevrolet didn't offer a rear bumper for their Medium and Heavy Duty trucks. The service body manufacturer could have installed one if needed, like the back step on a fire truck.

Since they were all custon made whatever you make will be right...find an old school bus and use that!

A picture of the truck body in question might help someone recognize or recall a bumper that looks like a suitable match.
