Anyone other than me having trouble getting their doors to line up with the belt line at the front and back edges?

Probably everybody.

Advice from the "Servicing Chevrolet Truck Cabs" booklet:
To adjust the door vertically, loosen the four capscrews at the pillar end of each hinge. Shift the door up or down so the belt moldings on door and body line up. Tighten the capscrews securely.
To adjust the door horizontally, first remove the trim and lower access plate to expose the attaching screws of the hinges. Loosen the outer hinges capscrews and slide the door horizontally to obtain a minimum of 1/8th of an inch between the door and cowl when the door is fully closed. The relationship of the door panel to cowl panel should be flush to 1/16th inch out to prevent wiping weather strip off door. Adjustment can be made by enlarging body hinge bolt holes or bending hinges.

Now, isn't that simple? Right.

When I go cruisin' in the old truck....women smile, men weep and dogs beg for rides.

The trouble isn't anything you can fix, by moving the door. We discovered today that all doors are not the same. They may bolt to the hinges but that dont make them fit. A 47 door has a curve at the front end of its belt line. After looking at several doors in the collection,(6 pairs) we found that doors from 47 to 49 are the same. Doors built 50 and up have a straight belt line. These door will not line up because of this curved end, not being there on the newer doors. It took us three days to figure out why the doors didnt fit up right. I'm going to leave the 50 doors on the 47 cab. The back belt line is pretty good and I'll just have to live with the fronts being lower than the cab's belt line. I hope to get some photos of this and get them posted, if i can find someone that can do it. I have also found that a 47 hood is not the same as later ones. Its amazing how many little different things you find when you compare the parts side by side.
