I'm working on the cooling system and have discovered that the connections are different sizes and am having difficulty finding replacement hoses. Both upper and lower connections on the radiator measure 1.5 in, but the water pump measures 1.25 in and the thermostat housing measures 1 in. I'm not sure what to use, should I try to find some tapered hoses or am I thinking about it too much. The old hoses are ~13 inches long and appear to be the same diameter on each end and just tightened down to the smaller diameter on the engine with hose clamps. Any help / reference would be helpful.

The local Napa and O'Reilly stores let me go behind the counter many times to search their inventory first hand for oddball hoses.
Wouldn't hurt to ask, all they can say is no.

I talked the counter guy at my local FLAPS to let me search through their assortment of hoses until I found one that worked. You might have to get one longer than you need and cut it down.
