Hi, I just bought a new project truck. It's a 1954 3600 cab chassis built in Kansas City. The PO got it about 10 yrs ago and never did anything to it. It is in pretty good shape. Only rust I see is on inside door bottom and floor seam by kick panels. The 235 is locked & missing carb & distributor. Obviously, I'm not driving it home w/o some work. Still working on a plan.
The tow setup looks like a well built custom unit. The Manley 3 ton winch looks like it is run off an electric motor via V-belt. Seems like everything is there.
Future plans are to fix & drive.

Thanks,
Scott

I was going to put tranny fluid in the cyls since the PO said the 235 was locked up. I pulled the plugs and they were clean. I grabbed a screwdriver and crawled under there. The engine turned freely. Yeehaw!! I just might be able to get it running. I have the missing parts.
Nothing else I can do to the engine, so I scoped out the truck. The engine fan only has two blades. Did someone take a fan apart purposely? WTH? The water pump is locked up. The brake system has the aux booster on frame. Was glad to see Bendix brakes & tube shocks, my '49 is Huck and knee action. And something I hadn't thought about... the winch also has a hand crank! Cool! There is a decent set of inner fenders and a beater usable driver fender in the bed.
The dually wheels look different. They are 16's. 1954 only? Hopefully I can find 2 more to make a set.

Years ago on my Dad's '46 pickup one of the fan blades got broken off somehow. In order to keep the fan in balance they broke the opposite blade off as well. It ran that way for a long time.
Not saying that's what happened to yours, but it is a possibility.
