| | | | Joined: May 2015 Posts: 35 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: May 2015 Posts: 35 | I've decided to finally pull the trigger on a set of 19.5" wheels for my '48 (I already have tires I received in a trade a while ago) as I am getting tired of putting air in the front right tire every weekend. Does anyone have a source for clamping plates? Accuride recommends GM P/N: 472536 but I can't seem to find them anywhere.

Can you use your old original clamping plates, I did on my GMC with newer 19.5 wheels, nothing wrong with that. | | | | | Joined: Apr 2016 Posts: 3 New Guy | | New Guy Joined: Apr 2016 Posts: 3 | I just went through this. I upgraded to 5/8 studs with the accuride wheels. (new for front and outer on back, and then old wheels on back inner to fit around brake hub. Instead of clamping plates I went with swivel nuts from lug nut king on ebay. I think they look great. I powder coated all the wheels a classic white. I upgraded the studs as the accuride wheels have a 5/8 stud hole. I can give you part numbers if you want. front inner wheel seal was the hardest for me to find. 1962 P30 is the same size from rockauto. I did a lot of measuring for the studs, but finally picked some parts from Dorman | | | | | Joined: May 2005 Posts: 8,878 . | | . Joined: May 2005 Posts: 8,878 | I have used swivel or flange lug nuts before and I've gone back to clamping plates where the wheel manufacturer recommends them. I think they do a better job supporting and stiffening the center of the wheel. They also look more appropriate when that's what the truck came with to start with.
