I have a 66 with a paint code of RP0536. Can anyone tell me what color it is? The truck is currently a very dark green but I'm sure it is not original. I searched here on the forum and also looked up a 66 on www.paintscratch.com but they don't show that color. They only go up to 526. A chart with all the 1966 colors would be a bonus. smile Thanks.

[Edit-]PS: The ID Tag says:
Trim: RP0Z62 AA
Paint: RP0536 AD
WB: 127

Don't know what Trim & WB stand for.

Well, I may have found my own answer. The DuPont Refinish Historical Color Chip Library shows a Dark Aqua 181-97788 (511) (536). It looks almost black, but of course I'm partially colorblind, seriously. Is this correct, and does it look like black to you? Thanks.

DuPont's Color Library : Start with www.performancecoatings.dupont.com , then click Visitor at the top, Then Color on the top menu, followed by "Color Chip Library - Historical" & then "DuPont Refinish" on the left side. Lastly, click "Launch the DuPont Refinish Historical Color Chip Library" at the bottom of the page. Then you can Browse at the bottom of the page.

Sorry for the long procedure, but I wanted this to be duplicatable.

boy those guys need to learn how to use javascript on a web site! don't know what the color really is because ALL the colors that include "dark" in the name look black, which just shows how useless old color chips can be sometimes, especially ones scanned into a computer - called Aqua, it could be that your dark green is what the original has weathered to over the years, tho Aqua might be more blue than green

still doesn't tell you how to duplicate it, or really even tell you what "Aqua" means - might try a shop that sells auto paint and see if they have the actual ol color sheets

Check the following charts at AutoColorLibrary.com :

Chart 1.
Chart 2.

It appears that 536 is the code for the 511 Dark Aqua Poly/Ivory two-tone combination. Those charts give the PPG numbers for the colors.
