I am converting from 3spd to 4 spd with recommended saginaw conversion from Patick's. The problem is I have been waiting 10 months for the shifter and calling monthly on status - ALWAYS two weeks out.

My question - is there an alternative 4spd "like original" looking shifter that will work with a saginaw transmission in a 58 task force truck?

Hurst made a "Competition Plus" shifter to fit the Saginaw 4 speed, I believe. It's got a reverse lockout handle and a choice of several heights of big chrome shift sticks, but there never was a "stock" shifter that I'm aware of except maybe the ones in the Chevy Monza, Vega, etc. where the 4 speed Saginaw was an OEM option.

Check Ebay for "Saginaw 4 speed shifter" LOTS of options over a wide range of prices, OEM and aftermarket.
