All of them are being replaced by new 22.5 units. Anyway, The 2 piece wheels I dismissed as the old firestones. But I came across a drawing of what was called an "advanced Center Design" rim that looks exactly like them. Was there another 2 piece centerline rim by another manufacturer?
Question 2: How do you take them apart? They have good pair of steering tires on them and it costs a bundle to dispose of the tires and rims. Throwing the rims on the scrap pile and selling the tires for $50 sounds a lot better. | | | | Joined: Nov 2014 Posts: 37 Wrench Fetcher | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Nov 2014 Posts: 37 | There not hard to take apart if they havent been on alot of years. But you need a breakdown hammer to make it easyer. Remove the tubes valve core leting out all the air then put some luiqed soap on the tire around were it joins the rim. Then take the hammer and try driveing the wedge end between the rim and tire working around it till its broke down do the otherside then find the notch between the 2 rim halves insert a prybar and pry them apart. then use more soap on the tire and liner so the other side of the rim will slide off.I can do this in a short time but i have fixed my own truck tires for years and i have never owned a truck that didnt have some kind of a split rim or you could sell the tires and give the rims away with them. | | | | Joined: Jan 2013 Posts: 1,384 Shop Shark | Shop Shark Joined: Jan 2013 Posts: 1,384 | OK, thanks.
