I'm curious about putting a 1.5 ton chevy front end and cab on my 3/4 ton duramax everything else. I'm sure someone has done it I'm just not finding any info. I have both trucks, just want the drivability of my 02 under the old cab. Not about to show it, would probably still haul cattle with it, just don't know what I'm getting into.

welcome to the site. I have not looked into this so, I am not much help! I believe the modern trucks have a wider frame than the older ones so, you will have to contend with that, steering column will probably need to be moved as it may be too far off-center for the older cab.

welcome. i have not done what you are planning but i did see an example of a combination 59 Apache front clip with a modern extended cab. looks like the bed is from the apache as well. if you go to the address i pasted below it should come up just scroll down a bit and you will see a light blue/teal truck. not the same as your 1950 but it may give you some inspiration.
