I went another way this winter and spring, I had custom leaf springs made. I used Detroit Spring. I had to weigh the truck at each corner using digital scales, then weighed the unsprung weight (axles, tires & wheels, shocks, and anything not above the springs), plus send all the measurements of the leaves. It took awhile to get all the information gathered up. I even checked the old springs for spring rate. Spring weight is the amount weight it takes to compress the springs 1". I had to come up with some small axles and roller bearings, plus a steel plate so there was no drag on the leaf ends when compressing them.

The new springs are much softer with teflon buttons at each leaf end. I am real happy with it and it still sets up like a truck and looks the way a truck should look.

Total cost for all four plus new u-bolts and bushings was $1475. Shipping was $240 of that. To me it was worth it, the ride is just as good as my '03 Toyota, maybe better.

I have a 55 2nd series and I am doing several projects this winter ..The front brakes need to be upgraded . I was thinking about going the MII route like you did ,but I am wondering if that kind of financial expenditure is worth the investment .? I have to buy or have my current motor rebuilt the truck also needs wheels and tire and an interior and I am going to rewire it ...

could you send me some pics to my email address of your truck . my email is guycamm@hotmail.com ...

thank you

I really like the 68/72 Nova front end stubbed under the 39/40 1/2 tons and the S-10 rear in the rear on Camaro springs. Worked great for 100k plus miles.

I have a 79 AMC Pacer under my 1954 3100 and have used it since 1985. There was a kit to install it bought for 99.00. This.

We B OLD: I saw the "kit" to install the Pacer front end on your 54 but I am wondering if this would work on my 55 Cameo or if the company makes something for my truck? Your thoughts?

The trick will be finding a Pacer to scavenge. They're about as scarce as honest politicians or NFL linemen who can read and write! A Nova would be a lot easier to find in a salvage yard.

Found these 3” lift springs and tubular upper control arms that would work for 1963-1966 C20, C30 & C35. If you had a front end swap from a later truck up to 1987 these would appear to work too.

Anyone know if the C10 stuff out there works on C20s or up?

Has anbody found a decent MII kit that keeps the 6 bolt lug pattern. I have been searching and cannot seem to find one. Really wanted to keep the 6 bolt if all possible.

I've got no experience with it other than adding it to my watch list on eBay, but CPP has a 6-lug disc brake kit to work with Mustang II setups.
