Not being much of a body man I purchased 2 lower rear corner patch panels for my 57 3100 abd went ahead and cut out the exact size of the patch minus about one inch. I removed the old skin only to find an inner panel. This inner panel seems to be part of the floor pan. Is it? I have read where some kids just fab their own piece of inner panel if you're not building a show truck. I have not found inner patch panels anywhere or else I would just buy them and weld them in too. Anyone know?

yes the inner is part of the whole inner cab stamping - doesn't usually require replacement, so you won't find any patch for it, but if there's parts in there rotted, they could be replaced from scratch .... or cut back to clean metal and left alone

If you look at Brotherstrucks.com under their tech articles, they have replaced the outer corner but deleted the inner. They added a brace and covered the hole inside. I am considering this, but not sure which way to go, new outer and inner or outer and delete the inner. both have a lot of welding.

I did replace mine on my 57 Chev. I would recommend replacing it instead of a workaround because it keeps everything lined-up as intended (I replaced pretty much all of the lower cab). I found mine at LMC.
