The FLAPS in my local area have to order the filters, guess it's not a popular size. When I received the one I ordered it was not like the one I pulled from the canister. The one I removed was metal clad with disc media as the filter material. The new one I received had a metal top and bottom with a perforated cardboard type material stitched together surrounding the filter. Can't really tell if the filter material is the disc media type filter. Has anyone else run into this situation? Does FRAM still make the C4P filter metal clad with the disc media type filter? Where can I find them? What is the best and most reasonably priced vendor to get these filters?

They are all metal.I see Fram on eBay but they are very expensive and supply vs demand only makes them more costly. I'm sure the change in production to non-metal puts more profit in mfr pocket.

Looked at the Purolator Classic filter also, but it is all cardboard and made in India....Nope!! Does anyone know if the Napa 1006 or the Wix 51006 a disc media design filter?

I think I could outrun somebody who tried to give me a Fram filter.

Guess that was your choice in the 40's and 50's...AC or FRAM. Going with Wix for now.
