I don't find anything specific to this by searching, so I will start here. I have a 1952 2 ton truck that I had intended to turn into a car hauler. I recently acquired a 1989 Chev 3500 rollback. I'm now considering swapping the '52 cab and clip onto the 89 chassis and retaining the newer running gear, rather than moving the rollback onto the '52 chassis.
My question is, has anyone done this and is there a thread somewhere showing/telling the issues with this swap ? The hydro boost brake system looks to be the most difficult to move to the '52 cab and I initially wanted to retain the floor pedals. I don't know if that is possible with the hydro.

I was going to post a couple pics, but I see that doesn't work here ?

I would bet the newer frame is going to be to wide for the older cab.

It is possible to put hydroboost under the floor, however, lines get quite busy. Could also put slave on unit somewhere convenient on firewall and use original unit as master, Grigg did something like this in modern Ford.

Get your tape out and start measuring, you will never know until you do.

The 2-ton sheet metal just might fit over the tires. Give it a try.

I have a lot of pictures of putting an even narrower 1937 1.5T cab and fenders on a UD (Nisson heavy diesel truck) chassis. Being a computer dunce it takes me forever to first put on Photobucket and then to this site but if interested PM me and I'll send whatever steps you might have questions on. If I were to do it again I'd definitely go with the 37 and update the suspension, steering, and brakes.
