my angle strips do not line up with cross sill holes 52 chevy

Sorry for what might sound like a silly question but did you try and flip them around? Maybe the side rail is made for the other side? I found on my flatbed the strips had to go a certain way.

i did and they r the same way

Some more info might help.
Did they come off the truck?
If not do they match the originals?
If new, who did you buy them from and what do they have to say on the matter?

The angle strips go over the cross sill. These photos (very good and often linked here) may help.

got them from classic parts that got them from mar-k. guy says they don't have to line up they go over wood. i understand that but some holes land on cross sills and not lined up with them holes. i see brads pics but can't really see the front bed pannel, how the angle goes in. i know there is a slit on the front pannel groove and angle fits in there but holes do not line up

also why does the angle strip hit one fender bolt on each side?

Could your cross sills be mixed up or reversed . Mine is a 54 the box is slightly different.the angle pieces I don't think should run by the fender bolt. If it does then it would have been like that on the old angle strip.maybe strip has to go up or down from the bolt.just looked at the picture looks like the rear of the fender has one bolt that goes through the strip in the picture the hole is there with no bolt in it yet.

In your photo, it looks like you are lining up the ends of the bed strips with the ends of the angle strips. The angle should be offset to the rear about 7/8" or so. It sits on top of the rear sill at the back and does not reach the front panel so not to interfere with the front panel bolt flange. That should make the cross sills line up with their corresponding holes in the angle. The angle does not just bolt to wood only. It is a critical structural member of the bed assembly and needs to be bolted to the cross sills and rear sill.

I think those lower fender bolts are supposed to go through the angle strips. See Brad Allen's pictures I linked to upthread.

You can't see the holes in the pictures? (I can see them) Or do you mean that there are no holes in the strips? (In which case, you will have to drill them yourself)

ok i can do that. i just thought when i bought them everything would line up.

Might verify you got the correct kit? Or like Gord&Fran said you may have to drill them to fit your bed.
