Tell us about it!

Peggy and I went in our local Veterans' Day P'Rade today. Supposedly the largest VD P'Rade in Maryland. There were certainly a lot of people both in the parade and watching it. Very satisfying and we were proud to do it. But ... we were one of only two antique trucks in the parade and we had the only MV in the parade. Go figure.

Semper Fi,
John

I rode in two parades with the Patriot Guard Riders today- - - -one in Nashville Tennessee, 16 blocks down Braodway near the head of the Vets' Day parade- - -We followed a big military vehicle that just happened to be ridden by the Tennessee Titans cheerleaders! Several wounded warriors were also on that vehicle.

Then it was off to Lebanon, Tennessee, about 30 miles east of Nashville. For the past several years, a local handicapped veteran has made the 30+ mile walk from the state capitol in Nashville to a veterans' memorial on the town square in Lebanon. The PGR escorted him the last couple of miles on his walk. He started about 6:00 AM today, and finished up just before 5:00 PM. This is his 4th. or 5th. time to make the trip. Incredible dedication!

To all our vets, past present and future, THANK YOU for your service!
Jerry

Good on ya, Jerry! But man -- judging by the crickets chirping, I guess we were the only Stovebolters in Parades this year... frown

No parades lately, but I did ride a funeral escort for an 83 year old Korea/Viet Nam combat pilot a couple of weeks ago. That one was sort of personal- - - -I taught school with him at the State vocational-technical school in Pulaski Tennessee for five years. I taught auto mechanics and he taught trade-related math subjects.

I was in a Veteran's Day Parade.

First one driving. I didn't realize it would be so slow! I almost smoke the 327.. or I smoked the 327, I haven't had a chance to inspect it... but it sure was pouring out a lot of black smoke from the left exhaust only.

I definitely need to put an electric fan on it!!
