And could I get away with a swift's red stripe over the Hollywood Tan color offered in Oakland only..or must it be cream stripe to be correct for 36. Merry christmas to all and thanks for your help..BD

Base/clear was not common until about 15 years ago. Now, you can do it either way. If you do the pinstripe before the clear it will last longer, but after you buff and polish the surface will be level and the pinstrip will not stick up like it does if you put it on over the top. To have it appear like the original, put the pinstripe on last.
