Any ideas or does someone sell an aftermarket battery tray that will fit a larger battery.

Take your measurements to one of them and have it made to fit. They can do the mounting holes/tabs and it will be a direct bolt in.

Most 24s will easily outperform a 27 in CCA and reserve, and weigh lees as well. Or better yet, many 34/78 combination group batteries outperform both, and are only a bit shorter in height than the 24 and have even more of a reduced weight.

I was hoping to use a Delco 1000cca group 27 battery to power my truck. But I noticed Bosch sells a Group 48 and a Group 78DT (side and top terminals), in AGM that will fill my needs. Both are close to or over 800cca. So yes, that is a great suggestion.
