Can anyone give me the part numbers for replacement taper roller bearings for the front axle of my 6400 big bolt? I would like to replace the ball bearing type bearings.
The Hyatt came as an assembly KA11035Z which can be replaced with a 15579A and 15522A Timken The Hyatt KA11424Z assembly can be replaced with a 17888 and 17830 Timken. Any bearing distributor with the old conversion books should be able to make the conversion. The above cup and cone numbers are still good Timken numbers.
Thanks for providing the part numbers, I was beginning to think my 51 2 ton project was going to be stopped due to bad wheel bearing races. I just got my adapters made to mount 15" rotors on the front.
Berg Design Not understanding why you would want to change out bearings that have worked for over 70 years. If serviced and adjusted are tough as nails !!
Gilyatt Overheated bearings if they had lube usually means too tight. Big bearings need some slack, always adjust, drive it a little,FEEL your hubs should be barely warm ( from brake heat) usually. When driving should be able to barely feel slack in the front wheel bearings. Then when you stop feel all the hubs,if a warm one probably too tight, back off till all run barely warm.
Hello Gilyatt! I also have a 1951 6400 that I want to mount front disc brakes on. Where did you get rotors and calipers for your truck? Thanks, Ron Ellis
Drblues, you might want to check out the first thread on this forum.

Parts are from a 1990 International. Had custom brackets made to install the caliper mounts, custom hats bolt to the stock hubs, had the 15 rotors machined to mount to the hats. Still have to run the brake lines, install master cylinder and booster. Rear was simple, just bolted in the International axle and modified driveshaft.
