Can't answer you on the welting question, but you should be able to find the "wrinkle-paint" at most any of the supplier's. American Classic, Chev's of the 40's, Jim Carter's, The Filling Station to name a few.
I'm sure I've seen it listed in Jim Carter's. | | | | | Joined: Aug 2005 Posts: 61 Member | | Member Joined: Aug 2005 Posts: 61 | wrong color in Carter's want medium brown..in spray can, but they don't make it anymore I've been told. Chev's of 40's has it but it's for 37 chevys, may not matter tho..altho I've seen 36 cars with wrinkle dashboards and they are light tan, but have been told brown was for half tons...if anyone knows where to get spray cans of this please reply.

I have a 37 and used wrinkle paint for the interior to keep it original. It was an ordeal. I first ordered it from Jim Carter and in July constructed a cardboard cover with hairdryers, heat lamps, etc. It didn't work very well; I got some of it to wrinkle while other parts didn't--and in the process almost asphyxiated myself!! Don't even ask how frustrated I was. I asked Carter for further advice and posted on the Bolt page--no real solutions. Then I was lucky enough to spot rattle can wrinkle paint in the Eastwood catalogue. I ordered a couple cans and it worked magically--as it dried, it wrinkled in a uniform way; it was absolutely simple. Problem is that now Eastwood only carries it in black, so it doesn't work for 36-38 trucks. I was thinking (if I ever need to repaint) that maybe it would be worth spraying the black to get the wrinkle finish, then after curing, spray a heavily thinned brown coat over it--might work, might be a disaster.
At any rate, if you find success, please let us know.

I posed the question before about "wrinkle" as opposed to "crinkle"! I don't want to confuse the issue, but have added a link that has some stuff on this type of paint. http://antiqueradios.com/forums/Forum15/HTML/000419.html Stuart | | | | | Joined: Apr 2005 Posts: 261 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Apr 2005 Posts: 261 | All the fender and other body metal to metal joints anti-squeak on all the 34 throught 36 trucks did not have a visible bead. The anti-squeak was a gasket impreagnated paper like 1/16" thick material that did not show to the outside.
