Was there a glove box light for the lighter 1946 Chevy trucks? Is it safe to assume if there was such an option they would fit in the 2 ton? Thanks. There was no light in the glove box. | | | | Joined: Jun 2011 Posts: 5,096 Crusing in the Passing Lane | Crusing in the Passing Lane Joined: Jun 2011 Posts: 5,096 | Keep us informed, nice addition to any truck.

There is a coutesy light and switch below the dash center. | | | | Joined: Jan 2015 Posts: 910 'Bolter | 'Bolter Joined: Jan 2015 Posts: 910 | I'll look for that light and switch. Thanks Jeffrey | | | | Joined: Mar 2011 Posts: 107 'Bolter | 'Bolter Joined: Mar 2011 Posts: 107 | That switch on mine is actually a 3 position. The three positions on mine are right-light through the opening in the dash above the key/throttle/choke, center-off, and left-dash illumination when the headlights/parklights are on. The switch is located on the bottom edge of the dash, left of the ashtray, and the switch is a slide that moves through the three positions in a right-left direction facing the dash. Needless to say mine generally stays in the left most position so the dash lights work when I need them. My phone screen makes better light in the cab to find the key hole than the tiny bulb through that little opening above the key. | | | | Joined: Feb 2008 Posts: 1,058 'Bolter | 'Bolter Joined: Feb 2008 Posts: 1,058 | Check the Jim Carters Truck Parts catalog, I think I recall they might have listed the switch in the past year to two? The somewhat triangular shaped bracket used on the 1/2 ton models to hold the throttle and choke cables in place behind the dash, has a hole used to hold the light bulb. This info may or may not be the same for the larger trucks??? | | |
