I bought a brake line kit from a major vendor and not one of the lines even remotely looks like the originals. The truck is a 57 Chevy shortbed manual brakes. Does anybody know of a vendor that has a kit that works. I hate to keep ordering and have to send them back. The same goes for the emergency brake cables another vendor has metal cased reproductions but they are 66 7/8 inches long and mine measure 62 and out of adjustment so they will never work either. Thanks for your help in advance

I would say inline tube unless that who you used. I have used many of there lines and cables and except for one line (bend in opposite direction) they have been good. They replaced the one that was not right.

Thanks Hambone, it wasn't Inline for the lines but it is them with the emergency cable. I think I might just shorten the original cables and use them the repops don't have the grease fitting on them. I have used the vendor for the lines for 25 years and never had a problem but they were car lines not truck. I think I'll try Inline for the lines and see if they have the correct ones.

Thanks again

I used inline when I did my 59. No problems, fit like the originals. Fifteen yrs ago.

I had issues with the parking brake cables ( after two vendors, I gave up) ........I added a spacer to make them work.

I purchased a coil of brake line for $30 and made mine using the old lines as the pattern.

Just an update got my new kit, well it at least resembled what it should look like. I had to add to 2 of the lines and shorten 1 of the lines, that was 3 of the 6 lines. The fuel lines look like another mess to make work.
