I have a manual tranny I pulled out of I believe a 48 Chevy 3/4 ton several years ago (it was an AD but did not have vent windows).
The numbers I see on it are.

Muncie SM420 synchro was the 4 speed that year , If it had a rod attached to the shiftier it would be pre 48 and no syncrhos
made from 1947 to 1967
