Six inches wide and 2 1/2 inches high. Works great and looks good. I'm trying to improve my rear view viewing capabilities since Lucille didn't have a mirror in the cab.
As I've been driving her more recently I noticed that there is a blind spot on the right hand side. These five inch diameter outside mirrors don't always tell you the story no matter how well you adjust them. They are sort of small and I'd like to find a similar sized round blind spot mirror that will look OK and be unnoticeable on the right side only. The left side outside mirror is fine because its much closer to my viewing.
Anyone have suggestions as to where I can find one that is 5 inches in diameter with the screw post on the back so I can just swap it out?
I almost ran into someone the other day when I was trying to get back into the right lane and couldn't see them.

Could you get one of those and fabricate your own base for it with the screw post? Just a thought. Or maybe find an old wrecked mirror to use for a base. That way you could keep the original if you ever wanted to put it back on.

It worked great.

I bought these after I almost backed into a beautifully restored 1953 GMC husker. CIPA is the manufacturer/source (up to 8.5" in diameter): CPI 5" HotSpot convex side mirror CIPA HotSpot convex mirrors They mount on the original rear side-mirror arms (you might have to drill out the mounting hole a little). They are stainless steel and come shiney or black (like original side mirrors). I had to make a little extension for the arm on the passenger's side. They vibrate a bit at speed but I like the coverage. | | |
