| | | | Joined: Mar 2001 Posts: 1,181 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Mar 2001 Posts: 1,181 | I spent a lovely 2 hours Sunday evening (Did not watch Saints, they make me crazy) inserting the vent glass only to remove it because I did not realize that the door window regulator has to be inserted first.
The GMC manual has a picture that shows that the entire assembly has to be inserted together, that seems just a bit nuts and a great way to scratch up your paint.

as anyone installed the main window glass in the doors while the vent window assembly is already in place.
Any pointers you can lend would help.

It was not graceful and not intuitive. It helped to move the window up and down some to settle everything in. So yes the window and regulator go first and yes a scratch (in my case) was inevitable.
