My 36 1/2 ton has about two coats of drab green paint,I want to strip it down to metal before refinishing, is it okay to use aircraft stripper if I carefully tape and protect the instrument gauges? Also did they ever chrome the headlight buckets and hood handles on this 36 1/2 ton?

Bruce -

The headlight buckets were painted. The door handles were chrome.

Bruce chrome headlamps were a 36 option. Hood handles were not. Hood handles were chrome on the 35 Special Chassis but came with a package (chrome shell band, grille, grille center bar and crank cover, headlamps & supports, spare tire hold downs, hood handles, all four shock absorbers.) Your hood handles would have been body color.
