Not going to be 100% original, but I'm curious about how things were originally painted.
Hood underside -- Body color, or black? Firewall -- Body Color, or Black? Inner Fenders (Front) -- Body Color, or Black? Fender support rods -- Body Color, or Black? Radiator Support (& Rods) -- Black? Inside Rear Fenders (Rear) - Black? Door Jambs -- Body Color, or Cambridge Grey?
I'm sure I'll think of more as I disassemble...
And, anybody got a paint code for Waldorf White on the back grille bars?
Cheers, mark. Firewall - body color Inner fenders - black Fender support rods - black Radiator support - black Inside rear fenders - black (also inside front fenders) Door jambs - inside cab color, at least to the seam where the outside sheet metal is joined to the door jamb. Was inside cab color that year cambridge grey? Of course, there could be overspray on most of those things left black.
Waldorf white - Just when I thought such a color code did not exist, a guy at Hershey told me PPG has a code for it in lacquer. I have not investigated it, as my inner bars are painted. And it is just as well, the guy (Thomas Aubrey of Buffalo, Wy) tells me it is just plain white, which is what I used. If you look him up and get the code from him, and make up some of the paint, I would like to know the result. | | |
