Hi everyone...

My c30 1-ton has stock 19.5" single rims. I have 2 rims that sets the tire further out inside the fender and 2 rims that set the tire further in inside the fender.

I was told 1 set came from a Chevy and the other set came from a GMC. Does anyone know this to be true and if so, which inset (set-back) is Chevy or GMC?

Here is a shot of the truck:

Any information would be greatly appreciated...

Thanks..
Russ

Russ, I was told...don't know if it is true or not...that the older version are the ones on the drivers side of your truck with the smaller hand holds and the smooth cones from the hand holds to where the edge of the hubcap meets the rim...and the newer version are the ones on your passenger side with the stepped cones and larger hand holds.

Both versions were made by Kelsey Hayes.

I have the stepped cone version on my '57 3600.

Once again hearsay, but I've been told the switch from old to new happened when Chevy changed from AD models to TF models midway through 1955.

Thanks HB and Matt...

Matt...
I have noticed that old vehicles had the wheel further in thus more of the body hung over the wheels and later they moved the wheels further out for better handling, so your information makes sense.
