First glance the fan belt is very thin. It matches the groove in the harmonic balanced and the alternator but the groove on the water pump pulley is much larger.
I'll get a pic soon but I take it there are several pulley groove widths out there?

What year engine?
What size engine?
Yes, there were different groove widths. | | | | | Joined: Dec 2015 Posts: 47 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Dec 2015 Posts: 47 | Sorry, the truck is a 1952 Chevy. The 216 was replaced with a 235. I was told it was believed to be a '54 235 but I have not confirmed the date codes yet.

Post the "date codes" and people will help you ID the engine. | | | | | Joined: Dec 2015 Posts: 47 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Dec 2015 Posts: 47 | To find the pulley with the 3/8" groove, what would do a search on?
