From what I can tell, the differences are the door handles and vent windows. Can I easily drop in vent windows into a '49 door and change out the door handles? Any other differences? I plan on installing a different drivetrain, so don't can about any differences there.

They will work without any modifications.
If you instead use '52-'55.1 doors (push button/vent window), you will need to use '52-'55.1 door strikers.
