Installed my new weatherstriping on both doors. No problems on driver side, but the passenger side door will not close all the way, just barely far enough to latch. Tried a "hard" slam and the door just pops back open. Doors are aligned, and closed fine before install of rubber. Installed the rubber according to assembly manual directions. Have looked carefully to compare each side, and cannot see what I may have goofed up. As stated, the driver door closes fine. Any ideas are appreciated.

New weather striping will be stiffer than the weather striping you replaced and have a more pronounced cross-section. This will allow the new weather striping to conform to the door contour. Also, a slight adjustment of the strike plate at the jamb will help. If not, I suggest shutting and latching the door. Over time the weather striping will weaken slightly and conform to the door, thus ensuring a good seal and secure latching. A few hot, sunny days will accelerate the process. My doors did the same thing with new strip. I banged the crap out of the metal flange with a rubber mallet which bent it back toward the interior. My doors still shut tight but much better than before.
