Has anyone rebuild their hood latch ??? Mine has a broken spring and so far I have had little luck in finding the correct replacement. Would rather not order a cheap reproduction.

best spring that i've found is actually a lawnmower part!
its the governor spring used on 17-20hp briggs opposed twin vertical engines. same length and its really strong ill see if i can get a part number.....
